biography:Dave grew up in Portland, Oregon and received two degrees in music from universities in Southern California. After a 32-year career as a full-time music minister in various churches in California, Oregon, Chicago, and Dallas, in 2004 he made a large vocational shift to become a Texas licensed insurance agent, focusing on Life insurance, Annuities, Life Settlements, Long Term Care, and Medicare Supplements.
In this, he discovered the ministerial gifts he had employed with music for so many years, could extend to encouraging and helping people with retirement planning and the employment of investment options that provide total security to their money. His goal is to establish and build a personal relationship—a friendship— with each client. To understand elders particular needs he became a Certified Senior Advisor through the “Society of Certified Senior Advisors. However, Dave loves advising people of all ages, and particularly those who in youth or middle age need to establish plans for the retirement years. Recently Dave and his wife, Barbara, wrote and published a book called “Hosanna, Loud Hosannas”, a Student Hymnal, along with a piano accompaniment book and recordings of all the songs for sing-a-long. It contains 115 hymns and their stories, designed to help people know and appreciate the great heritage of Christian songs from both history and present day. Dave continues his professional music activities as a free-lance pianist and singing with the church choir at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Barbara is a music teacher and supervisor at Providence Christian School of Texas. They have four married children and ten grandchildren. |
